PTTLS Level 3 - Award on Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector
What is PTLLS?
PTLLS is designed to contribute to the skills, knowledge and understanding related to the Professionsl Standards for Teachers, Tutors and Trainers in the Lifelong Learning Sector.
The qualification provides an entry point and introduction for those new to teaching and training or wishing to teach or train.

How is the course organised?
This is a one unit qualification, consisting of five sections.
1. Understand own role, responsibilities and boundaries of role in relation to teaching
2. Understand teaching and learning approaches in the specialist area
3. Demonstrate session planning skills
4. Understand how to deliver inclusive sessions which motivate learners
5. Understand the use of different assessment methods and the need for record keeping
Course Delivery
The course starts in September 2011 in Carnforth, Lancashire.
You will be required to attend for 3 hours a week for 10 week terms, or 1 weekend a month for 4 months, plus 30 hours of practical experience.
This will be comprised of 10 group tutorials and the delivery of the theory aspect of the assessments. The other 10 sessions will cover your individual tutorial support time, developmental activities, research, and teaching practice.
The cost for the course will be £250 per year plus £90 C&G registration and administration fees per year. Students can pay by 3x£90 monthly installments plus C&G fee up front. Fees are reviewed annually.
The Class will run on the 4th Saturday of the month, starting on September 24th. The full dates are as follows:
