Kate has written about the techniques she developed during her M.A. course.
She worked with acid dyes printing on felt using a range of techniques including screen printing, acetate printing and spraying. She shows how to use textured pre-felts in her collage technique and how she modelled these into body masks. She has simplified them for the home studio and gives clear instructions on how to use them.
Fully colour illustrated in A4 landscape format with 40 pages. It is acetate covered and spiral bound for easy studio use.

New course "Printing on Felt" in Week 2
Our popular summer school is running for a third year and for 3 weeks.
Each week we offer 2 options: one with Rosie and the other with Kate.
The courses are held at Carnforth high School, Lancashire in light, well equipped rooms with ample parking and disabled access. The school is a 10-minute walk from the train station and just off the M6 motorway at junction 35.
We have frozen the course fee for you this year, at £200 for 5 days, plus £25 for materials and equipment. The comprehensive, full colour, course booklets have received much praise, making it easy to continue working on your own after you have finished the course.
The day starts at 9.45 and ends at 3.45, allowing time for leisurely breakfasts and evening activities. If you would like local accommodation lists then Rosie can send one to you. Mighty Bites is across the road offering a range of quality and value hot and cold meals at lunchtime.
We will award an ArtyBird certificate for anyone attending and completing a course. Some courses can be taken as a level 1 City & Guilds qualification if you wish. There is a £75 registration and administration fee for this.

Indigo Shibori by Katherine Taylor
This is an advanced course in a range of feltmaking techniques that teaches you how to integrate design and felt. This is done through a series of 10 assignments supported by PowerPoint Presentations. It explores a comprehensive range of feltmaking techniques through the use of colour, shape, line and texture.
Cost £1200 including City & Guilds registration and certification fee. Installment arrangements can be made.
