Several of our students are teachers and they receive funding towards their course fees through their schools. City & Guilds qualifications are ideal to add to a professional portfolio as an internationally recognised awarding body.

Level 2 courses are run on one weekend a month for a year. Each weekend is a short module that builds up a portfolio for assessment. Each module is designed as a short scheme of work to give ideas for the classroom. Using art techniques to plan for a craft piece underpins all the work. Kate Horner has 11 years of secondary school experience and is able to discuss ways of adapting the modules to the classroom situation.

Demos with lots of samples are a key feature of all the courses

The Level 3 courses are run on one weekend a month for two years and are for the serious student who wishes to study design in depth as well as apply this to your craft area at a professional level. This level of qualification is needed to teach your subject as a specialist.

Kate and Rosie are keen to continue with their own professional development. Kate successfully completed her City & Guilds Level 3 certificate in Fashion this year and is studying web site design at the moment. Rosie is studying for her NCFE moderators qualification.

ArtyBird can write and deliver custom made courses in your school and award you an ArtyBird certificate. Please contact us for details at rosie email.
